Red Ravens Cage Cougars

Coming off a victory over Butler, the Red Ravens women's basketball team looked to keep their momentum moving forward as they welcomed Barton Cougars.

The Red Ravens led at the end of the first quarter 17-13.  The game looked to be a hard fought game as both teams traded leads and forced turnovers.  However, the second quarter was a completely different story as the Red Ravens went on a 24-4 run.

In the first half, sophomore leader Sky Jasper led the way as she converted all but one of her shots from inside the arch.  Jasper posted 9 points in the first half and played solid defense against a Cougar team that tried to pressure her on and off the ball.

Sophomore Lucy Burke stole the spotlight from everyone in the second half.  It appeared that Lucy couldn't miss as she drained three after three.  At one point, you heard head coach Stephen Harrell yell to Jasper, "Find your girl!"  Harrell was referencing the fact that Jasper had received three assists from Burke.  The two sophomores showed their comfort with each others game; knowing where each one would be.  On the game, Burke posted 23 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 blocks.  It was another outstanding performance from the Australian guard.

The Red Ravens also received contributions from the bench.  Freshman T'era Fullove ended the first half by swishing a three pointer.  Fullove also provided an undeniable presence down in the post as she grabbed 9 rebounds on the game while adding 2 steals.  The freshman would add 7 points and 3 assists to her stat line.

The Red Ravens look to continue their winning ways as they travel to Cowley on Saturday, January 13th.
