Softball Splits with Fort Scott

The Red Ravens Struggled to string hits together to pull off the first win in the series against Fort Scott. In Spite of the loss the Ravens came out swinging, Hydee Williamson started the Ravens off in the first inning with a solo homerun. Brianna Wisby also had a solo shot in the sixth inning to tie it up for Coffeyville. After a long battle for eight innings, the Ravens fell to the Greyhounds 5 to 4. Sophomore Lexi Taylor got the loss in the circle. Taylor Threw six innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, 0 earned runs, 7 strike outs, and 2 walks.

The Ravens answered back in the second game of the day, winning 12-4. In the top of the first, Brittany Wilkins hits a line drive single to start the inning off, Lexi Taylor came up with the timely hit to score Willkins and allowed Coffeyville to take an early 1-0 lead over the greyhounds. From there, Coffeyville ran away with the game while scoring 4 runs in the second inning and putting Fort Scott away in the sixth inning with 6 runs.

Coffeyville put up a team batting average of .355% with Tarren Hudson leading the team average going 3 for 4 at the plate with one RBI. Close behind Hudson would be Hana Risely going 3 for 4 with a double on the day. Hydee Williamson, Lexi Taylor, Madison Henson, and Morgan Welch all had timely hits to drive in runs for the Ravens that contributed to their win.

Brittany Wilkins was the winning pitcher for the Ravens. She pitched five innings allowing 7 hits, 3 earned runs, 4 BB, and she threw 1 strike out to earn the win.
