Coffeyville Community College's Chance Merrill finished third in the bareback riding event in the Central Plains Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. The top 3 finish in the regular season has qualified Chance to the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, WY June 9-15, 2019. In Casper, Chance will compete against approximately 30 bronc riders from across the nation. At the final seven regional rodeos, Chance won five rounds and finished top 3 in the average six times. "Chance was the only bareback rider in the Central Plains to make a qualified ride in all 12 rounds this spring. This consistency combined with his strength to ride the stronger horses has us excited to see what he'll accomplish at the CNFR" said Coach Weil.
