Men's Soccer Opens their 2016 Season

The Red Raven Men's soccer team opened up their 2016 season with an opening game 2-1 victory over Maple Woods but ended their first week with a 3-0 loss to Eastern Oklahoma  State College.

To start the season, Coffeyville Community College men's soccer team traveled to Kansas City Missouri on August 23rd to battle MCC–Maple Woods in their season opener. 

The Red Ravens looked sharp posting a 2-1 victory in the opening match.  Freshmen forward Johnny Ynseul, from Lake Park Florida, scored the first goal of the season with an assist by sophomore defensemen James Ingram, from England, at the 18 minute mark in the first half.  Daniel Karasanyi, freshmen forward from Rwanda, also scored a goal in the first half with an assist from Ingram at the 32 minute mark of play.

The Red Ravens gave up a late second half goal, but were able to preserve the opening game victory 2-1.

On August 27th, coming off the Maple Woods victory, the Red Ravens traveled to Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton Oklahoma to play their second game of the season.

Against Eastern Oklahoma, the Red Ravens were only able to muster 4 shots on goal, and fell to the Mountaineers 0-3.  The Red Ravens fought hard but were not able to crack into the scoring column against Eastern.

The Red Raven's ended their first week of play with a 1-1 record and are looking forward to a match against Crowder College in Neosho Missouri on Tuesday, August 30th with a start time scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
