
Moberly, MO - The Coffeyville Community College Men's Basketball Team opened their 24-25 season by traveling to Moberly Missouri to play in the MACC Classic. The Red Ravens opened their season with a close 82-78 loss against #17 ranked Moberly CC on Friday and bounced back with an 80-72 victory over Shawnee CC on Saturday afternoon.

Coffeyville opened their season pushing the #17 ranked Moberly CC throughout the majority of the game, losing at the end by just four points 82-78. Coffeyville had three players in double figures in the opening game with sophomore Justin Taylor scoring 19 points along with 5 assists, freshman Konstantin Popovic with 15 points (5-8 from 3), and freshman Trenton Ruth with 10 points.

Coffeyville bounced back after the opening night loss against Moberly to post an 80-72 victory over Shawnee CC. The Ravens trailed Shawnee by three at halftime (35-32) and outscored Shawnee 48-37 in the second half to post the 80-72 victory. Taylor again led the Ravens with 23 points along with 7 rebounds. Trenton Ruth added 16 points (3-5 from 3) followed by freshman Abdul Kuta with a 13 point 10 rebound double double.
Coffeyville will have their home opener on Tuesday, November 5th with a matchup against the Red Devils of Allen County. Tip-off in Nellis Gymnasium is set for 7:30 pm.
