
Great Bend, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team returned from the holiday break with a 76-69 road loss against the #10 NJCAA-ranked Barton Cougars. With the loss, the Red Ravens' overall record falls to 7-6 including a 3-4 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) games.
The game was tight throughout the first half as Barton took a slim 29-28 lead into halftime over the Ravens. Coming out after halftime, Coffeyville went roughly the first four minutes of the half without hitting a shot allowing Barton to build a 41-28 lead before Coffeyville could sink a bucket. The Cougars then maintained an 8-12 point lead throughout the second half with the eventual seven-point 76-69 victory.
The Red Ravens had four players in double figures with sophomore Cris Carroll with 16 points and 6 rebounds, freshman Brian Griffith with 14 points and 6 assists, freshman Jayven Cofer with 13 points, and freshman Jahni Summers with 12 points.
Coffeyville will return to action on Saturday, January 6th with a home tilt against the Broncbusters of Garden City. Tip-off in Nellis Hall is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
