Herkelman Stresses Fundamentals During Camp

 NJCAA Hall of Fame Coach Jay Herkelman welcomed thirty area students to the Coffeyville Community College campus for his 2018 Camp of Champions.  Students age 15 and under spent the week developing their skills and learning the importance of good technique.  Specific emphasis was placed on ball handling, footwork/pivoting, shooting, passing, and team play.  Participants of the camp received a Camp of Champions t-shirt and competed in various events to earn prizes. 

“This is always a good week to teach young kids the importance of the fundamentals" said Coach Herkelman.  “We have a number of campers that come back every year and that tells me that they enjoy the camp but also they want to learn and improve their skill level.”
