The Coffeyville Community College Men's basketball team traveled to Concordia Kansas and lost to the Cloud County Thunderbirds, 75-84.
It was the second straight loss for the Red Ravens after starting the season 7-0. Coffeyville now has an overall record of 7-2 and are 3-2 in KJCCC conference play.
Coffeyville battled hard after coming out of the gates slowly to start the game, the Red Ravens were down 5-16 just 4:00 into the game. However, the Red Ravens were able to go on a 16-5 run of their own at that point and were able to earn a 42-38 lead at halftime.
The Red Ravens were looking good with 3:43 left in the game and nursing a 73-67 lead. Nevertheless, the Thunderbirds were able to close out the game on a 17-2 run to hand the 75-84 loss to the Red Ravens.
Statistical leaders for the Red Ravens included freshmen guard Malik Keith (18 points & 9 rebounds), freshmen forward Cedric Roland with 16 points and freshmen guard TJ Washington with 12 points.
Coffeyville looks to get back in the win column with a home game on Wednesday, November 30th in Nellis Hall against the Pratt Community College Beavers. Tip off is set for 7:30 pm.
