Biography:

Cody Oates will be in his seventh season with the Red Ravens in 2022. 
  
While with Coffeyville Community College, Coach Oates has served as the offensive line coach and is currently in the position of Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line.  As the offensive line coach at CCC, Oates has coached 17 players to All-Conference honors.
 
Before coming to the Red Ravens, Coach Oates spent a season as an offensive assistant working with the Missouri Tigers’ offensive line. At Missouri Oates helped coach two players that were drafted in the 2016 NFL draft, Evan Boehm and Connor McGovern. He joined the Tigers in the winter of 2015 after spending four seasons as the offensive line coach at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas.
 
During his tenure at Butler, Oates coached 13 All-Conference performers on the offensive line, including three NJCAA All-Americans. Oates had 18 players move on to 4 year universities and 16 players sign to the Division 1 level.
 
Prior to joining Butler, Oates spent the previous two years as an assistant football coach at Northern Heights High School in Allen, KS. Oates was the varsity offensive and defensive line coach and the head junior varsity coach for a team that led the state in passing offense with a quarterback who threw for 49 touchdowns.
 
As a player, Oates was an offensive lineman at Butler in 2004 and 2006, helping the Grizzlies win conference titles both years with a combined record of 22-2. He then went on to play at Emporia State in 2007.
 
Oates is originally from Topeka, Kansas, where he was a three-year starter for Washburn Rural High School.
