Red Raven Football Falter Against Hutchinson, Lose 49-7

The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Football team traveled to Hutchinson to compete against the #4 NJCAA ranked Hutchinson BlueDragons.  The Red Ravens were not able to come away with the victory and found themselves on the losing side of the scoreboard 49-7.  The loss marks the Red Raven's overall record at 2-6 and 1-4 in KJCCC play.

Coffeyville found themselves down early to the Blue Dragons with Hutchinson scoring on 3 touchdown passes (22, 14, and 23 yards) out of the gate to put the Red Ravens into a 21-0 hole early in the second quarter.  The Red Raven's were able to mount some offense to close the score to 21-7 off of a Aubrey Williams 11 yard touchdown pass to Titan Williams.  However, Coffeyville was not able to muster any more points and the Blue Dragons ran away to a 49-7 victory.

The dominate stat in the game was Hutchinson's rushing attack accumulating 309 yards on the ground to Coffeyville's 99.  Hutchinson doubled Coffeyville in total yards with 516 to Coffeyville's 246.

Stat leaders for Coffeyville included sophomore quarterback Aubrey Williams who went 13 for 23  for 126 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception, sophomore running back Marco Lee who rushed 13 for 72 yards and freshman receiver Isaiah Williams had 5 receptions for 76 yards. 

Coffeyville will return home for the Montgomery county bowl next Saturday, October 19th.  Coffeyville will host the Independence Pirates with a kick off scheduled for 7:00 in Veteran's Memorial Stadium.
