Hasan retruns; Red Ravens return to win column

After missing the last four and a half games, freshman quarterback Mo Hasan returned to starting action for the Red Ravens and helped lead the team to victory over Iowa Central.

In his first start back, Hasan went 19/25 with 242 yards and 1 touchdown.  Hasan saw some action against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M the previous week, but this was his first start since his injury.  The impressive stat in his two outings since his return is the zero interceptions.

Redshirt Freshman Dominic Stampley was one of Hasan's favorite targets on Saturday, connecting with Stampley four times for 134 yards.  One of those receptions was a 91 yard reception in which Stampley showed great speed and footwork as he danced around the defenders.

Sophomore Vernon Dasher added another defensive touchdown to his season stats.  Dasher had a forced fumble and fumble recovery for a 20 yard touchdown.  The touchdown brings Dasher's total to four defensive scores on the season.  Dasher has been a force for the Red Raven football team this season and has put up impressive showings throughout the year.

While Freshman Jack Diamond and Aloyous Jackson have filled in well in Hasan's absence, it is no coincidence that the Red Raven offense has been clicking as Hasan returns.  The offense scored only one touchdown through the air in the game (Hasan to Juwan Ruffin), but it was the threat of Hasan's arm that opened up the running game.  Justin Henderson, DeShawn Massey, and Wynton Ruth each scored a rushing touchdown.  Each had a run of 20+ yards as well.

Now that Hasan is fully healthy, the Red Ravens can expand their play and gives Coach Leiker and his staff the extra boost of confidence heading into their homecoming game against Dodge City.
