The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Baseball team beat Neosho County 10-9 (7 innings) and 5-1 (9 innings) in a home doubleheader. With the victories, the Raven's overall record moved to 8-11 and 4-2 in KJCCC play.
Game #1
Game #1 saw the Ravens come back in thrilling fashion scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the final inning to earn the 1 point (10-9) walk-off victory.
Raven sophomore DH Trey McClelland (Olathe KS) led the way offensively going 3 of 4 (including a double) and 2 RBI's. Freshman left fielder Edsael Torres (San Juan PR) hit a double in the bottom of the 7th inning to score 2 runs in the comeback attempt. Sophomore Easton Rindt (Salina KS), red-shirt freshman Jayen Kay (Billings MT), freshman Brett Kennett (Olathe KS), sophomore Jackson Wilcox (Wichita KS), and red-shirt freshman Cody Toyer each had a single RBI in the victory.
Coffeyville sophomore Raymond Farrell (Tulsa OK) was on the mound for the Ravens going 6 innings allowing 7 runs (5 earned) with 10 strikeouts and 2 walks.
Game #2
Coffeyville's pitching was the story for game #2. Raven pitchers gave up only 1 run and 5 hits in the 9 inning 5-1 victory.
Coffeyville's red-shirt freshman starter Frank Peterson (Warrensburg MO) went 5 strong allowing 1 earned with 3 punchouts and 1 walk. Freshman Mac Cheney (Plano TX), freshman Taylor Mahoney (Olathe KS), sophomore Alex Galvez (Panama City, Panama), and freshman Chat Hayes (Grove OK) all helped in pitching 4 innings of 0 runs, 2 hit baseball.
Raven left field Edsael Torres provided the offense going 2 for 3 in the game including a double.
