Ravens Sweep the Scotties

Coffeyville sweeps the Scotties of Highland Community College in a 4-game series. The Raven pitching and offensive production helped them to a big 4 game sweep.

In game 1 Coffeyville put Aaron Bechtel on the bump, proving to be a wise decision. Aaron threw a 7.0 inning, 5 hit and 0 run shutout, completely taking all the power away from the Scotties and solely in the hand of the Red Ravens bats. Brady Rockers batted an impressive 2-3 with all 3 RBI's scoring Luis Mendoza twice who also went 2-3. The Ravens score 3 runs on 7 hits, winning game 1 of the series, 3-0.

In game 2 the Ravens threw Jackson Blancarte. Jackson went 6.0 innings on the bump giving up only 5 hits and 1 run. Owen Logan came in for the 7th and 8th innings giving up only 1 hit and threw 4 guys a chair and didn't allow a run to cross the plate. Matt Hunt came in for the 9th to close the game out seeing 3 batters and setting all 3 down on strikes. The Ravens offense was big as well. Jorge Ortiz went 2-3 with and RBI and Noah Wallace went 2-4 with an RBI triple and a big double. Ravens win game 2, 5-1

In the 3rd game Coffeyville looked to continue their domination. Starting on the bump was freshman Tucker Sparks, Sparks went 5 innings with 6 strikes outs and only gave up 3 hits. Freshmen Dominic Scudiero came in to close out the game going three up three down getting the job done out the pin. The Coffeyville offense continued to stay hot in the 3rd game. The offense put up 13 hits and 17 runs. Sophomore Blake Carroll went 2-3 with 2 doubles 2 RBIs with 3 runs scored continuing his recent hot streak. Sophomore Chase Freeman also had a big game going 4-4 with a 2B, 4 Runs, an RBI and a BB.The Ravens got the job done winning 17-3.

In game 4 Coffeyville look to seal the sweep knowing they were not done yet.

Freshman Raymond Ferrell started on the bump for the Ravens. Ferrell went 6 innings with 5 strikeouts and only allowed 1 run to cross the plate. Sophomores Owen Logan and Matt Hunt both came in from the pin in game 4. Owen had 2 innings pitched and kept the Scotties scoreless. Matt Hunt pitched 1 inning and shut down the Scotties offense. The Ravens offense looked to keep putting pressure on the defense and that's exactly what they did. As a team they had 11 hits and 6 runs. Sophomore Blake Carroll continued to have the hot bat going 2-2 with a double, single, 2 stolen bases, and 2 runs scored. The final score to the game was 6-1 Coffeyville.

The wins move Coffeyville to 20-14 on the season and 8-8 in KJCCC play
