The Coffeyville Community College baseball team played a home Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference double header against the Blue Devils of Kansas City Community College.  In close one run games, the Red Ravens lost the first game 6-7 but were able to bounce back and win the second game 3-2.

The split moves the  Red Ravens overall record to 11-9 and extends their early season KJCCC record to 3-3.

Game #1 was set to be a seven inning contest between the two teams, however some excitement from the Red Ravens in the bottom of the seventh sent the game into an extra eighth inning.

The Red Ravens were trailing by two (3-5) going into the bottom of the seventh when they were able to score 2 runs to tie the game (5-5) off of a single by Red Raven freshmen outfielder Tywon Mackey Jr and doubles by freshmen infielder Damon Jorgensen and red shirt freshmen infielder Antonio Culotta.

Going to the extra eighth inning, the Red Ravens gave up two runs in the top of the eighth and were only able to score one in the bottom of the eighth to get the one point loss 6-7.

Sophomore outfielder Bryan Miranda had two RBI's in the game along with RBI's by sophomore catcher Hunter Kellgren, Jorgensen and Culotta.

Red Raven sophomore left hander Sam Carver went 6.1 innings allowing 3 earned on 7 hits with 6 strike outs.

In Game #2 on the day, the Red Ravens were able to salvage the split with the one run 3-2 seven inning victory.

Right hander freshmen Gavin Heltemes got the win for the Red Ravens behind his strong 6.2 innings allowing 2 earned on 6 hits while striking out 6.  Sophomore right hander Bradly Hershy came out of the bullpen for the one out save.  His third on the season.

Offensively, the Red Ravens were led by Bryan Miranda and Damon Jorgensen who both went 2 for 3.  Jorgensen ended the game with 2 RBI's and Miranda had the remaining RBI.
