Red Raven Baseball Season Ends In First Round of Region VI Playoffs

The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East's #6 seeded Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Baseball team's 2017 season came to an end over the weekend with a 2-1 three game series loss to the KJCCC West #3 seeded Dodge City Conquistadors in the first round of the Region VI Baseball Playoffs.

The Red Ravens played the three game series in Dodge City with the first game on Friday, May 5th.  Coffeyville played a tough, hard fought first game but  lost 4-3 in 11 innings.  The Ravens scored two in the ninth inning to tie the game at three, but the Conquistadors scored a run in the bottom of the eleventh to get the victory.

The second game of the Region VI playoff series saw the Red Ravens trailing 5-0 after two innings, however, Coffeyville outscored Dodge City 12-1 over the remaining seven innings to post the 12-6 victory and push the series to a deciding game three on Sunday.

In game three, Coffeyville was trailing Dodge 6-3 going into the sixth inning when the Conquistadors exploded in the bottom of the sixth for 13 runs.  The Red Ravens were not able to answer and the game ended after seven innings with the Red Ravens losing 19-3.

The 2017 Red Raven baseball season ends with an overall record of 26-30 and a 17-19 KJCCC record.
