Softball Stays Hot, Splits the Week

Exciting week in conference play for the Red Raven Softball team splitting each with Fort Scott, Labette, and Cloud County. The Red Ravens improve to 6-12 in conference play, 16-21 overall.

Starting the week, the Red Ravens hosted Fort Scott winning the first game 10-4 and losing the second 5-0.

In the circle for game one, sophomore, Alyssa Dawson gave up six hits and walked one. In game two, freshman Alexia Taylor took the loss giving up six hits, three walks, while striking out four.

The Red Ravens had 15 hits on the day. Leading the charge at the plate was Adrienne Myers with three singles, two RBIs and a walk.  Dawson had a home run, three RBIs a walk and a stolen base.  Angie Nixon had a single and a double and three RBIs.


Traveling to Labette County, the Red Ravens lost the first game 11-3 and won the second 8-1. This win broke a 15 game losing streak against Labette.

Bailey Naden took the loss of the first game giving up nine hits, three walks and one strike out. Dawson received the win allowing six hits and striking out one.

With 19 hits against the Cardinals, sophomore Rebecca Luper led the Red Ravens with three singles, three RBIs and a home run. Freshman Emmy Neely had two doubles and an RBI.  Danielle Stover had a single, a triple and an RBI.  Makenzie Bill had a single and an RBI.  Myers had two singles.


Finishing the week, The Red Ravens hosted Cloud County winning the first game 6-5 and, after a rain delay in the fourth inning, lost the second game 8-6.

For the win, Dawson allowed nine hits and walked none. This win moved Dawson into a three game win streak in the circle. Naden took the loss the second game giving up ten hits, one walk, one strike out and one hit by pitch.

The Red Ravens earned seventeen hits against Cloud County.  Dawson had two singles, one sacrifice, and an RBI.  Regan Bradley had two singles and a stolen base.  Bill had two singles, a walk and an RBI.  Lastly, Morgan Welch had two singles, two RBIs and a stolen base.



The Red Ravens are to host their rescheduled rival game against Independence on Monday at 2p/4p. They will finish Conference play at Johnson County on Tuesday April 17th.
