Track & Field Shows Out in the Cold

Track & Field traveled to Pittsburg, Kansas on Saturday April 14th and competed against top athletes around the area.

The team faced frigid conditions as the weather dipped down to low 40's with wind chill at 30.

"It was the coldest track meets we have ever competed at," said head coach Craig Perry.

Even with the conditions against them, the athletes showed out.

"Brooklynne Wilson had a good showing in women's discus," said Perry.  "She made the finals and continued proving herself as one of the best discus throwers in the NJCAA."

This meet proved once again the strength of the Red Raven Track & Field program.  Several athletes had qualifying marks setting them up for Regional seeding.

"For us, this was a good opportunity to forget about marks and times and just get out and compete," said Perry.  "In Kansas you never know what the weather will bring.  Both our regional and national meets will be in Kansas, so it is good to be prepared to compete in any weather conditions."
